Sitam 20 hour patternmaking course

Sitam is a traditional Greek method of patternmaking adapted for more contemporary dressmaking. With the stencil, ruler and book (the Kit) it gives the dressmaker a professional fitting that insures an accurate fit.

Georgia Kondolyiannis, who has studied the SITAM method of Patternmaking extenstively both in Australia and overseas, delivers the course here at Astratex. Georgia is a highly skilled dressmaker/patternmaker who loves sharing her knowledge.

The 20 intensive hours of tuition is usually run on 4 consecutive Sundays (or Saturdays) of 5 hours and the cost is $380 (based on $19 hours tuition).

The projects covered are as follows:

Drawing and Construction of: Basic Bodice Block; Sleeve Block; Dart Transference; Fitted Dress Block; Collars; Trouser Block.
